Great Finds Friday: Close To My Heart Thanksgiving Table Décor

Welcome to Great Finds Friday! Here’s a fast, easy way to add color and personality to your Thanksgiving table. Using cardstock, ink, stamps, and mini muslin bags from Close To My Heart®, you can create simple yet elegant favors and coordinating napkin rings that will impress your guests.

The beautiful NEW Happy Autumn My Acrylix Stamp Set was the starting point for my design. I only used two stamps from the 11-stamp set to create my designs, but you can mix and match to create your own unique look. The floral and leaf images from this stamp set can be used year-round, making it very versatile. The other sentiment stamp in this set is “Give thanks for all you have.” That’s a wonderful reminder this time of year!

My Creations™ Muslin Drawstring Bags from Close To My Heart measure 4”x6” and are sold in packages of three for $3.95. They are perfect for holding a few handfuls of wrapped candies. I want my guests to have a lasting, cozy reminder of our harvest celebration, so I’ll be filling my favors with a few scoops of spicy autumn potpourri that they can take home and enjoy throughout the holiday season.

To add a burst of color to my otherwise neutral table, I stamped the pretty row of Happy Autumn mums onto the muslin bag using Exclusive Inks Stamp Pads in Sunset, Cranberry, Gypsy, Honey, and Topiary. I stamped the “Happy Autumn” sentiment in Cocoa. To prevent ink from bleeding through to the back of the bag, insert thin cardboard inside before stamping. I used the small, square stamp pads to ink the image, but you could also use Exclusive Inks Markers if you like a more precise look. I applied both the sentiment and the mums cling stamps to one 4”x5” My Acrylix Block, inked the images, and stamped my surface. Easy!

To finish off the favor, fill as desired, cinch the drawstrings, and tie a bow. Stamp the first letter of your guest’s name onto Goldrush cardstock, from the NEW Sarita Paper Packet, using Cocoa ink; heat emboss with clear embossing powder. (I used the NEW Framework Alphabet from Close To My Heart, but you can use your favorite alphabet stamps.) Punch letter into a 1-1/2” circle and punch a small hole near the top. Tie monogrammed tag to bag using baker’s twine from the Mini-Medley Accents Wooden Collection. Insert a Bigger Brad from the Mini-Medley Accents Antiqued Gold Collection through the tag hole.

For each napkin ring, cut one 6”x2” Goldrush and one 6”x1-1/2” Colonial White cardstock strip. In same way as favor bag, stamp mums image at center of Colonial White strip. Layer and adhere strips together. Using strong, double-sided tape, overlap and adhere strip ends 1”. Press down slightly on top of napkin ring to create more oval shape. Roll and insert napkin.

For one more dose of color, use a 12”x12” sheet of Sarita B&T Duos® double-sided paper in place of a traditional cloth place mat.

I hope you enjoyed these easy project ideas. Wishing you color, creativity, and blessed abundance!
