Every so often, I enjoy sending a good friend a card completely out of the blue, for no obvious reason or occasion.
It’s Jill Cornell here today to share a couple of card ideas you can create to give to a special someone. For my first card, I used the brand-new “My Girl” collection from American Crafts.
I was inspired by the pink border sticker and polka dot butterfly to round the corners of both my sentiment card and the stamped cardstock element. The pink flowers were stamped with a blush pigment ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
For my second card, I used the “Dear Lizzy: Neapolitan” collection, also by American Crafts. I love the soft pink polka-dot vellum and distressed the edges by gently tearing with my fingers.
Mason jars are a popular image in paper crafting. Here, I took the Mason jar sticker and embellished it further by adhering it to a journaling card, wrapping it with ribbon, and securing a brad in the center.
The next time you are creating cards, consider adding a few “just because” cards to your stash!
