2. Cut 5-1/8”x6-1/4” panels from Natural White cardstock and peach polka-dot paper. Adhere panels together. (Note: This helps to reinforce card front to support weight of trinket pin.)

3. Wrap lace and ribbon around layered panel as shown, adhering ends at back. Adhere panel to card base using foam tape.

4. Cut 4-3/8”x5-1/2” Pink Paislee floral/text paper panel and 4-1/2”x5-5/8” gold paper panel. Adhere panels together.

5. Stamp Onyx Black sentiment at center upper half of floral/text panel; heat emboss with clear powder.

6. Follow manufacturer’s instructions to tie multi-loop bow around layered panel; adhere panel to card using foam tape.

7. Die cut/emboss Filigree Delight A2 template from gold paper, using wax paper for ease of removal. Adhere filigree panel to card using tiny pieces of foam tape.

8. Adhere pearls to corners and midpoints of filigree panel. Insert trinket pin through center of bow; place earring back on tip of pin. Adhere filigree piece to bow.

  • To create oversized, top-fold cards, create a “hinge” by cutting the back piece slightly longer and scoring it to create a flap. Adhere front panel to flap.

Oil Pastel Background

Sue Czosek here today with an artsy, easy background technique for stamped designs. I have this lovely box of Karat Oil Pastels from STAEDTLER in all the beautiful colors of the rainbow. I decided to pull a few of the summery colors and create a sunny card.

1. Color different areas on white cardstock using the oil pastels.

2. Using a sponge in a circular motion, blend the colors together.

3. Die cut multiple butterflies from white cardstock to create masks. Adhere masks to the pastel background using removable tape.

4. Using Ranger Acrylic Paint Dabber, smear white acrylic paint over butterflies; carefully remove masks.

5. Stamp sentiment onto pastel background using Crimson ink.

6. Stamp agapanthus flowers along the bottom using Crimson ink. This stamp image contains both solid and outline images. Color in outline flowers using yellow oil pastel.

7. Highlight letters and flowers with a white gel pen. Let ink dry.

Happy Stamping!

  • Pink chalk, two shades
  • Adhesives: strong white craft glue, paper adhesive, foam tape

Basic Supplies

scissors, craft knife and cutting mat, small paintbrush

1. Do not use unbaked clay on unprotected furniture or finished surfaces. Start with clean hands and work surface area. Good work surfaces include wax paper, metal baking sheet, or disposable foil. Knead clay until soft and smooth. For best results, clean your hands in between colors. Shape clay, pressing pieces together firmly. Bake on oven-proof glass or metal surface at 275°F (130°C) for 30 minutes per 1/4″ (6 mm) thickness. For best baking results, use an oven thermometer. DO NOT USE MICROWAVE OVEN. DO NOT EXCEED THE ABOVE TEMPERATURE OR RECOMMENDED BAKING TIME. Wash hands after use. Baking should be completed by an adult.

2. Preheat oven to 275°F (130 °C). Test temperature with oven thermometer for perfectly cured clay. For best results, condition all clay by running it through the clay-dedicated pasta machine several passes on the widest setting. Fold the clay in half after each pass and insert the fold side into the rollers first.

1. With Clay Conditioning Machine on setting #2, roll White clay into sheet.

2. Ink one large circle stamp Jet Black; stamp onto White clay.

3. Allow five minutes for ink to dry; trim around stamped area with craft knife.

4. Scrape some of each color of chalk onto protected work surface. Using paintbrush, color areas with chalk as desired.

5. Bake embellishment as directed above. Allow embellishment to cool.

6. Make 4-1/4”x5-1/2” side-fold card from Pink Passion paper; fold with dot side out. Adhere paper ribbon across bottom of card as shown; trim ends even with card.

7. Stamp sentiment onto medium pink paper; trim to 3-1/4”x7/8”. Mat onto light pink paper using paper adhesive.

8. Die cut large scalloped circle from second light pink paper. Using white craft glue, adhere clay embellishment to circle; let dry.

9. Adhere sentiment to card over paper ribbon. Adhere clay embellishment to card with foam tape as shown.

10. Enclose note and piece of magnet sheet with card, telling your friend that circle embellishment may be removed and used as magnet.
